Newborn Photography FAQs
Appointments & Booking
Our studio is open from Monday to Saturday. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
We offer in-studio newborn photoshoots only.
Please note that we cannot confirm your photography session date until a non-refundable deposit of Rs. 10000+GST (Rs. 11800) is received. The remaining amount must be paid on or before the day of the photoshoot.
When is the best time to get a newborn photo session done?
We recommend that the best time to get a newborn session done is between 7 and 11 days. However the latest the newborn should be done is at 3 weeks (21 days). This is because the newborns are very flexible and sleepy in the initial days of birth and as the days pass, their bodies become more stiff and we are unable to get into those curly newborn poses.
How early should I reach out to book my newborn shoot?
To schedule a newborn shoot, we recommend that you pre-book your session when you are in the 7th or 8th month of your pregnancy. We can send you a pre-booking form and request a small deposit from you.
How can I schedule my newborn session as the exact date of the newborn’s arrival is not known?
Most of the time it’s not possible to predict the exact arrival of a newborn. We mostly know that it happens in the 9th month, but it’s rather rare for the baby to arrive on the given due date.
It’s very important to get the newborn shoot done between 7 and 11 days to get the best outcome.
To schedule a newborn shoot, we recommend that you pre-book your session when you are in the 7th or 8th month of your pregnancy. We can send you a pre-booking form and request a small deposit from you.
Once the newborn has arrived, please let us know (if possible) by a Whatsapp message. We ideally want you to reach us the day you come back home from the hospital with your new baby. This is mostly the 2nd or 3rd day after the baby’s arrival. When you come back home, it means that both you and your baby are in good health. You can then schedule a shoot with us – over a call or Whatsapp between the 7 and 11 days. Please note that we only photograph newborns within 3 weeks of birth preferably between 7 and 11 days.
Can I include an older sibling in a newborn shoot?
Of course! We are more than happy to have your older child or children join the session.
Please note that there is an additional charge of ₹7995+GST per child per setup. This fee also includes one extra edited photo in your final deliverables.
Can we get a parent or a family shoot done along with our newborn shoot?
Yes, we highly recommend adding our Vogue style family session to your shoot. Family photos will become the most memorable part of your life and you will enjoy them for a lifetime.
We believe that newborn photography is for you but family photography is your gift to your child.
Is it possible to reschedule my newborn photoshoot, either earlier or later than the original date?
Yes, we do permit rescheduling your session once, 7 days before your scheduled appointment. Last minute rescheduling is not allowed.
What is the procedure for cancelling my scheduled newborn photoshoot?
If you need to cancel your session, please provide at least 7 days notice, or 14 days notice if your booking falls on a Saturday. Upon cancellation, your deposit will be retained as a credit, which you can use within the next 6 months.
Kindly note that deposits are non-refundable.
What happens if I arrive late for my scheduled photoshoot?
We kindly ask that you be punctual for your appointment, as our studio operates on a tight schedule and our photographer has other commitments.
If you anticipate a delay of 10-15 minutes, please contact us to check our availability. Delays of more than 30 minutes without prior notice may result in the cancellation of your session and forfeiture of your deposit.
To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend planning your day in advance:
- Prepare your newborn bag & parents outfits in advance (in case of a parents shoot)
- Travel time to the studio, including potential traffic and delays.
Aiming to arrive 20 minutes prior to your session time can help accommodate any unforeseen delays.
What payment methods do you accept, such as bank transfers, UPI, cards, or cash?
We offer a variety of payment options to suit your needs.
For online transactions, we accept UPI and bank transfers, as well as Google Pay and Paytm. We can also send a payment link on request.
For in-studio payments, we welcome domestic debit/credit cards and cash.
Please note that we are unable to process international credit or debit cards at this time.
Will I receive a GST invoice for my newborn photoshoot? Can I receive a GST Invoice in the name of my business for this photoshoot?
We will provide you with a GST invoice for the services you’ve utilised. Our services typically include an 18% GST, unless otherwise specified.
However, please be aware that we only issue invoices in the name of an individual for personal shoots like newborn sessions, as they are considered personal services rather than commercial ones.
Business GST invoices are reserved for commercial shoots. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Are you available for outdoor, at-home, or out-of-town newborn photoshoots?
Certainly! We can provide custom packages for out-of-studio newborn shoots starting at Rs. 2 Lac + GST. Please don’t hesitate to call or WhatsApp us for further information or to discuss your specific needs.
Set-ups/Themes for Newborn Session
We provide a variety of different backdrops for your newborn’s photoshoot. We prefer to use neutral, white and pastel tones to create a soft aesthetic that complements the delicate and tender nature of newborns. Though we are open to preferences and any personalisation from your end. It all depends on what kind of backdrops and elements we have in our stock.
What type of backdrops are available for the newborn photoshoot and how do I pick a backdrop?
We provide a variety of backdrops, focusing on neutrals, dark, white, and pastel tones. These colours create a soft, delicate aesthetic perfect for newborn portraits. We will share our newborn portfolio with you to help you select your backdrop.
We’ll guide you through the available options during the pre-session consultation, considering your style and vision. Based on your preferences, we’ll help you finalise the backdrops.
Can you do the same thing for me if I like something on Pinterest or Instagram?
Yes, feel free to share any inspirations from Pinterest or Instagram. This helps us understand the context of your visual requirements. If we have something similar available, we would love to offer it to you.
Can I bring my own props for the newborn session?
Absolutely! You’re welcome to bring personal props. We’ll integrate them into the session if they match the setup and ensure they are safe for the baby.
How long does it take to do 1, 2, 3 or 4 newborn setups?
Each setup generally takes 20-30 minutes, including positioning and adjustments. A single setup might take around 1 hour, while 4 setups could take up to 3 hours, allowing for feeding and calming breaks to ensure the baby’s comfort.
Do you sanitise the backdrops and props between sessions?
Yes, hygiene and safety are our top priorities. All props and backdrops are thoroughly sanitised after each session to ensure a clean and safe environment for your newborn.
Wardrobe – for the newborn
You do not need to worry about the wraps or outfits for your newborn, as they are provided by us. As per the backdrop you choose, we use one wrap or outfit per set-up for the newborn.
Are the wraps and outfits used for my newborn clean?
Yes, all wraps and outfits are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before each session. We prioritise hygiene to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for your baby.
How do I pick a wrap or outfit for my newborn?
Based on the backdrop and theme you select, we will offer a curated selection of wraps and outfits. You can choose from our collection, and we’ll help coordinate them with the overall aesthetic.
Who will wrap the baby, is he/she trained to do so?
Anega herself wraps and handles newborns. She is professionally trained in wrapping techniques and has over 10 years of experience in wrapping newborn. Your baby’s safety and comfort are her top priorities, and all wrapping is done gently to ensure a snug, secure, and cosy fit.
Can I bring my own outfits or accessories for the newborn?
Yes, you can bring your own outfits or accessories. However, regular clothing can sometimes overwhelm a newborn’s small frame. Our wraps and outfits are specifically designed for newborn photography, ensuring they enhance your baby’s features and look beautiful in the photos.
What types of materials are the wraps and outfits made from?
Our wraps and outfits are made from soft, natural materials like cotton, ensuring comfort for your newborn while maintaining a beautiful aesthetic.
Can I choose multiple outfits for each setup?
For each setup, we use one wrap or outfit. A natural, naked look is also considered an outfit option and can be included as part of the session.
Wardrobe – for family & siblings

The wardrobe for your family shoot is probably one of the most important aspects of your family look. You are welcome to choose outfits for the mom, from our wardrobe selection for Rs. 3000+GST per outfit. We have many outfits that you can choose from.
What should my husband and I wear for the family session with our newborn?
Your wardrobe choices depend on the backdrop. For darker backdrops, we suggest deep, rich tones like navy or charcoal. For lighter backdrops, soft, neutral shades such as beige, ivory, or light pastels work beautifully. It’s important to keep the colour palette cohesive to ensure the focus remains on the family’s connection rather than on bold contrasts.
Are family outfits available at your studio for newborn photoshoots, and can I preview them?
We offer a curated wardrobe selection for moms, which you are welcome to explore during the consultation. However, we ask that dads and siblings bring their own outfits to complement the overall look. Our wardrobe options are chosen with care to ensure they photograph beautifully alongside the newborn.
What kind of footwear, jewellery, or accessories should we bring for the family photoshoot?
Simple and elegant accessories are ideal for family photoshoots. When it comes to footwear, neutral-toned shoes or opting to go barefoot can help maintain a natural look. For jewellery, we recommend subtle pieces that won’t draw too much attention away from the family, allowing the overall theme to remain timeless and harmonious.
What should my older child wear for the family photoshoot?
We suggest comfortable clothing in neutral or pastel tones that match the newborn’s outfit. It’s best to avoid bright colours or busy patterns that might overshadow the natural beauty of your family’s interaction. Simple, classic outfits help keep the focus on your family’s connection.
Can we coordinate outfits as a family for a cohesive look, and do you provide styling advice?

What backdrops do you use for family photoshoots with the newborn?
We offer a selection of both light and dark backdrops to suit the style and mood you’re looking to create. Whether you prefer soft, neutral tones or a richer, more dramatic backdrop, we’ll help you select the best option to highlight the love and bond of your family.
What colours, patterns, or outfits should we avoid?
It’s best to steer clear of bright colours, busy patterns, or large logos, as they can distract from the focus of the photos. Opting for soft, neutral tones and classic styles helps create timeless images that highlight your family’s natural connection and beauty.
Hair and Makeup information – for the mother

If you are adding a family shoot to your newborn session, the mom is expected to come ready to the studio with hair and makeup. We always recommend that you work with your existing Makeup & Hair Artists to get the expected results for the shoot day.
Hair & Makeup is NOT INCLUDED in our packages and is not offered as a service. We DO NOT ALLOW Hair & Makeup to be done at our studio as per our business & insurance policy.
Are hair & makeup services available at your studio?
Unfortunately, we do not provide hair and makeup services at the studio. We understand that as a new mom, time can be limited, so we recommend arriving ready for your session. If you prefer a more natural look, that works beautifully for newborn photography. You don’t need to overdo it—just come as comfortable as you feel.
Can my hair and makeup artist come to the studio for preparations?
We do not allow hair and makeup artists to come to the studio for preparations. This is due to our business policies and insurance requirements. We recommend arriving with your hair and makeup done to ensure the session runs smoothly and remains focused on capturing beautiful moments with your newborn.
Can you suggest specific hair and makeup artists for the shoot?
We don’t provide specific recommendations for hair and makeup artists. However, we suggest working with someone you’ve used before and are comfortable with, as this helps ensure you’re satisfied with the results. Familiarity is key in these early days, especially when you may not be feeling your best, so trust in your usual artist can help you feel more relaxed.
Is it necessary for me to get my hair and makeup done if I am part of the photoshoot?
It’s not absolutely necessary, and we understand that you may not feel your best after just having a baby. However, we recommend doing whatever helps you feel more comfortable and confident. These images will be cherished for years, so even a light touch of makeup can help you feel more at ease in front of the camera. What matters most is that you feel good about how you look, so choose a level of preparation that works for you.
What type of makeup look do you recommend for a newborn family photoshoot?
We recommend a soft, natural look. A simple approach to makeup enhances your features without overshadowing the overall mood of the session, especially in those early newborn days when you may be feeling a bit more tired. A natural look also ensures that the focus remains on your connection with your baby and family, capturing timeless, beautiful images.
How should I style my hair to complement the overall look of the photoshoot?
Your hairstyle should reflect your personal comfort and style. Whether you prefer your hair down, loosely tied, or gently styled, the key is feeling like yourself. In these early days with a newborn, a simple, low-maintenance style works best, ensuring you feel both confident and relaxed throughout the session. The goal is to keep everything as natural as possible to match the serene, intimate atmosphere of newborn photography.
What should I avoid when doing my hair and makeup for the session?
It’s best to avoid overly dramatic makeup or complex hairstyles, as these can distract from the natural, emotional moments we aim to capture. Heavy makeup can sometimes feel uncomfortable and may not reflect how you want to remember these early days. Simplicity is key—by keeping your look natural, we can focus on creating timeless photos that highlight your connection with your newborn and family.
Will there be time for touch-ups during the session if needed?
Yes, we understand that new moms may need a few moments for quick touch-ups, and we’re happy to accommodate this. Typically, we start with parents, giving you time for minor adjustments if needed. We aim to make the session as comfortable as possible, so you’ll have the opportunity to refresh your look throughout the shoot as needed.
Deliverables
Step 1 – Photo Selection (Within 10 Days)
You will receive a link containing approximately 30+ unedited, low-resolution (largest side 1000px @ 100dpi) photos from each look/theme. These watermarked images are for browsing purposes only.
Step 2 – Sending Your Selection for Editing (ASAP)
Please send your selection of edited photos within 24 hours. If we do not receive your list within 30 days, we will no longer be able to provide the edited photos.
Step 3 – Final Photos (Within 4 Weeks)
Once we receive your selection, we will deliver the final edited photos in high resolution (largest side 3000px @ 300dpi) within 4 weeks. These images will include a small artist signature watermark. Watermark-free versions are available 12 weeks after delivery.
Step 4 – Unedited Photos (Within 30 Days)
For packages above the base level, a limited number of unedited high-resolution (largest side 3000px @ 300dpi, no watermark) photos are also provided. You will need to submit your list of unedited photo selections within 30 days using a form we provide. If we do not receive your list within 30 days, we will no longer be able to provide the unedited photos. Additional unedited photos can be purchased as part of our add-on options.
PS: Please note that raw photos or photo dumps are not available.
What is the quality or resolution of the delivered photos?
Final photos are delivered in high resolution, with the largest side measuring 3000px at 300dpi. This resolution ensures exceptional quality, allowing you to print your photos in large formats or use them for any purpose requiring high detail.
What does ‘largest side 3000px @ 300dpi’ mean?
This means that the longest dimension of your photo will measure 3000 pixels, while the image resolution is 300 dots per inch (dpi), a standard for high-quality printing. This combination provides clarity and sharpness in both digital and printed formats.
Are raw or unedited photos provided?
We do not provide raw photo dumps. However, certain packages include a limited number of unedited high-resolution JPEGs (largest side 3000px @ 300dpi, no watermark). Additional unedited photos can be purchased.
How do I select photos for editing?
We have made the selection process simple and convenient. You can share screenshots with file numbers directly via WhatsApp with your account manager, or create a favourites list within the online gallery. This process is separate from unedited photo selection to avoid any confusion.
How can I select unedited photos?
You will receive a form to submit your unedited photo selections. Please submit your list within 30 days, as we won’t be able to provide the unedited photos after that period.
How can I get more edited or unedited photos than what’s included in my package?
Additional edited or unedited photos can be purchased beyond what’s included in your package. Pricing for these options is detailed in our package add-on section.
How will the photos be delivered to me?
All photos will be delivered digitally via an online gallery, allowing easy access and download. Your gallery will be available for 1 year, after which retrieval will no longer be possible. We recommend downloading and securely backing up your photos within this period.
Will there be any watermarks on the delivered photos?
Edited photos will include a small artist signature watermark, discreetly placed away from the main subject. Unedited photos, provided in certain packages, will be delivered without any watermark.
How long will the backup of the delivered photos be kept?
Your online gallery will be available for 1 year after delivery. After this time, the photos will no longer be retrievable, so it is important to download and back them up within that period.
Can I remove the signature watermark from the final photos?
Yes, watermark-free edited photos are available 12 weeks after the initial delivery, at no additional cost. This allows you to enjoy fully edited images without the artist signature if desired. You will have to send a specific email for this after the 12 weeks of the delivery of your photos.
Newborn Editing style
BASIC EDITING IS INCLUDED IN ALL THE PACKAGES.
Colour Correction, Hair Flyaways, Skin Smoothing, Basic background clean-up, and light body shaping are included.
Our editing does not include changing the colours of clothes or nails, head swaps, swapping backgrounds, removing tattoos, more precise skin work, working chipped nails, fill-in hair and lashes, composites or major body reshaping.
What is your approach to editing newborn photos?
When it comes to editing newborn photos, our approach is to enhance their overall quality while preserving their natural beauty. We utilise a delicate touch during the editing process, focusing on essential elements such as colour correction, basic background clean-up, and straightening. Our aim is to maintain the authenticity of your newborn’s appearance and highlight their inherent charm.
During the editing process, we take care to address minor concerns such as removing small nail scratches or minor insect bite marks on the face. However, we do not completely eliminate the flaky skin, as we believe it adds to the genuine newborn look. Instead, we make subtle adjustments to ensure a smoother appearance while still retaining that natural touch.
For family photos, we extend our editing services to include managing hair flyaways, smoothing skin, and applying light body shaping techniques to ensure that everyone looks their best.
Please note that our editing scope does not cover extensive alterations such as changing clothing or nail colours, head swaps, background swaps, tattoo removal, intricate skin work, fixing chipped nails, hair and lash fill-ins, composites, or major body reshaping. Our goal is to create a beautiful representation of your newborn while preserving their natural features.
Can I request changes or revisions to the edited photos?
We strive to ensure that the edited photos meet your expectations and our high standards of quality. However, once the final images are delivered to you, we do not offer revisions or changes as part of our service.

Can I request specific filters or styles for the edited photos?
We appreciate your interest in customising the filters or styles of the edited photos. However, at this time, we do not offer the option for customers to request specific filters or styles. How long does the editing process typically take?

Can you create black and white versions of the photos?
Absolutely! As part of our standard procedure, we provide you with black and white versions of your edited photos. We understand the timeless and artistic appeal of black and white photography, and we’re delighted to offer this option to our valued clients.
When delivering your edited photos, you can expect to receive both the coloured and black and white versions, allowing you to choose the style that resonates with you and best captures the essence of your precious moments.
Photo Copyrights and Sharing
We try our very best to produce the most beautiful photos for you that will last you a lifetime, Hence sharing these photos with the world helps us get motivated to keep going and produce an even more beautiful body of work.
If you do not want your images to be shared, you can opt for the privacy add-on for your shoot for Rs. 19,995 + GST. Please note you have to take prior approval at the time of booking for the privacy add-on. We are unable to offer privacy add-ons for any new wardrobe or any new type of shoot.
Will you use the photos from our session as part of their portfolio?
Yes, we typically showcase photos from sessions in our portfolio because it’s an essential way for us to highlight our work and the memorable moments we capture. This practice helps potential clients get a sense of our style and the calibre of our photography. However, we deeply respect your privacy and preferences.
If you’d prefer your photos not be included, we offer a privacy add-on service, allowing you the option to keep your images private.
May I ask for a slight delay in sharing my newborn photos until I feel ready?
Absolutely, we can accommodate your request to delay sharing your newborn photos for about 1 to 2 months. We understand that these early moments are precious, and your comfort and preferences are always our top priority.
Can I opt for a privacy add-on to ensure the photos from my session remain private and are not shared publicly?
Indeed, we offer a privacy add-on for an additional fee of Rs. 19,995 per shoot, which allows you to keep your photos private and not shared publicly. Please bear in mind, this add-on requires prior approval from us, as we typically do not offer private shoots for brand-new setups or completely new styles.
This policy ensures we can meet your privacy needs while maintaining the integrity of our photography services.
Is it possible to request that specific photos not be published or included in the photographer’s portfolio?
Yes, if you prefer that certain photos from your session are not shared in our portfolio, we highly recommend selecting our privacy add-on. This ensures those particular photos remain private and are not featured in our portfolio. We value your privacy and are dedicated to accommodating your preferences.
How can I ensure that my personal information or identity is protected in the photos you take?
Absolutely, we take your privacy concerns very seriously and are fully prepared to accommodate your needs in this regard. If you express the desire for anonymity within your photographs, we will ensure that no identifying details are disclosed. This means we will not tag you or mention your name in any of our shared or public photos.
We’re committed to respecting your privacy preferences and will take all necessary steps to ensure your comfort and trust in how your images are handled and presented.
May I use the photographs taken by you for commercial purposes, or share them with wardrobe makers, designers, or makeup artists for their portfolios?
Our photography is primarily designed for personal use, and we maintain a policy that restricts the use of these images for commercial purposes. This includes advertising on billboards, business communications, exhibitions, and similar commercial displays
However, we understand the importance of collaboration and recognition in creative industries. If you wish for your makeup artist, wardrobe maker, or designer to feature these photos on their social media, they may do so under specific conditions: they must tag our photography service and provide explicit, proper photo credit linked to our profile
Permission from us is required before they proceed with sharing the images.
Additionally, when these photos are posted, credit to the us (photographer) should be prominently displayed at the beginning of any accompanying text, ensuring it stands out more than credits for other contributions.
This approach allows for a respectful sharing of work while acknowledging the creative contributions of all parties involved.
Who holds the copyright to the baby and maternity photographs? Is it possible for me to acquire full copyright ownership of these photos?
Under Indian copyright law, specifically the Copyright Act of 1957 (as amended), the creator of a photograph, in this case, the photographer, is generally the copyright holder, not the individual who commissioned the photos. Consequently, we retain copyright ownership of the images we capture. We grant our clients the right to use these images for personal, non-commercial purposes.
While we typically do not offer the sale of copyrights for maternity or baby photo shoots, we understand that there may be unique circumstances where full copyright acquisition is desired. If you find yourself in such a situation, we encourage you to reach out to us directly to discuss the possibilities.
Sanitation and Hygiene Policies
We maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness at the studio and have many policies in place.
Cleanliness Standards
The studio maintains high cleanliness standards, regularly disinfecting surfaces, props, and equipment with safe and suitable products. Harsh chemicals and strong odours are avoided to ensure a comfortable environment for pregnant women & newborns.
Hand Hygiene
Staff and clients are encouraged to sanitise their hands upon entering the studio. Hand sanitising stations are readily available throughout the premises.
Personal Hygiene
Staff and photographers adhere to strict personal hygiene practices, including regular hand washing and clean attire. Those with contagious illnesses or symptoms are required to stay home.
Props and Equipment
Props and equipment used in newborn sessions are regularly cleaned and sanitised. Fabrics, blankets, and clothing are washed with hypoallergenic detergents before and after each use.
Waste Management
Proper waste management procedures are in place for safe disposal of diapers and other waste. Garbage bins are provided and regularly emptied.
Ventilation and Air Quality
The studio maintains proper ventilation for fresh air and comfort. Regular checks and maintenance of ventilation systems are conducted. We also make sure that we use air purifiers to maintain a healthy AQI.
