Best Time for Newborn Photoshoot

The ideal time for a newborn photoshoot is between 10 and 14 days after birth. This is when babies are usually sleepiest, curl up most naturally, and are easiest to pose comfortably for classic newborn portraits.

Many parents also search for newborn photography at around 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or even up to 4 weeks or 1 month. Sessions can still be possible depending on your baby's routine, flexibility, and comfort, but the best results are usually achieved in those early 10 to 14 days.

For families following traditional timelines, sessions can also be planned around the 40-day milestone, with styling adjusted to suit slightly older babies.

A few of the most common questions parents ask before booking a newborn session.

What is the best age for a newborn photoshoot?

We recommend that the best time to get a newborn session done is between 7 and 11 days. The latest we shoot is at 3 weeks (21 days). This is because newborns are very flexible and sleepy in those early days — as the days pass, their bodies become stiffer and those signature curly newborn poses become harder to achieve.

How early should I reach out to book my newborn shoot?

To schedule a newborn shoot, we recommend that you pre-book your session when you are in the 7th or 8th month of your pregnancy. We can send you a pre-booking form and request a small deposit from you.

How can I schedule my newborn session as the exact date of the newborn's arrival is not known?

Since it's hard to predict exact birth dates, we ask you to pre-book your session in your 7th or 8th month of pregnancy. We'll send a pre-booking form and request a small deposit to hold your date. Once your newborn arrives, please let us know by WhatsApp — ideally on the day you return home from the hospital (usually day 2 or 3). You can then schedule your shoot for between days 7 and 11 after birth. Please note that we only photograph newborns within 3 weeks of birth, with days 7 to 11 being the ideal window.

Can I include an older sibling in a newborn shoot?

Of course! We are more than happy to have your older child or children join the session. Please note that there is an additional charge of ₹7995+GST per child per setup.
