Around 32 to 34 weeks, the bump is at its fullest and roundest, and that is when fitted and sculpted silhouettes photograph best. If you have ever wanted the classic, form-fitting maternity image, this is the window to take it in. Flowing and draped looks still work at any stage; we simply pose them to keep the shape clear. This is the window we recommend most, because you are still comfortable, every silhouette works, and the bump reads at its best in camera. Book early - this is the window most mothers want.

Which week is best for a maternity photoshoot?
Most mothers shoot between 28 and 36 weeks, with 32 to 34 weeks as the sweet spot - the bump is full and round, you are still comfortable, and every silhouette photographs well. If you want the classic, fitted maternity image in particular, this is the window to take it in. Enter your due date above and we will work out the exact dates for you.
Can I shoot at 37 weeks or later?
Yes, absolutely. At 37 weeks and later we plan the session for comfort first - shorter sets, more seated and reclining poses, and nothing rushed - and fitted and draped looks still photograph beautifully. If you are past the window or your due date has already passed, message us and we will find a slot quickly.
What changes if I am carrying twins?
Carrying twins moves the whole timeline earlier, since a twin bump reaches its fullest sooner than a single pregnancy. The window is 24 to 30 weeks, with 26 to 28 weeks as the sweet spot. Turn on Twins above and the calculator adjusts every date for you.
When should the newborn photoshoot happen?
The sweet spot is 10 to 14 days after birth, while babies are still sleepy and easy to pose. Up to three weeks still works well, and four weeks is the limit for that sleepy, curled-up look; newborn photographs with parents can be taken at any time. We book the date from your due date before birth, then simply move it to the actual day once your baby arrives - just message us when they do.
