When is the best time to get a sitter’s photo session done?
Sitter sessions can happen anytime between 7 month to 14 months of age.
The best time is at the start of 8th month – basically as soon as the child starts sitting without support for about 15-20 minutes.
Where would the session take place?
All the sessions take place at our studio on Golf Course Road in Gurgaon. Our studio is comfortable, clean, naturally lit and temperature controlled. There is also a private feeding/changing room available for your use. Mothers feel super comfortable at our studio.
What does one sitter setup includes?
A sitter setup would include one background and a few props on the set. In one sitter setup, a child is photographed in one outfit.
What should I bring for the baby to wear during the session?
Their food and diapers – anything that you may need when you are stepping out with the baby for a few hours. During the pre-session consultation, we will try and understand the kind of setups that you like. I do have a few outfits available for the sitters. However, you are welcome to bring your own outfit for the baby if it goes with the setup or for the family session.
If we choose the optional parents session, what should I or my husband wear?
You can get some ideas about the clothes from the portfolios that I have shared with you. However, I will give you detailed instructions (keeping in mind your taste and my style) during the pre-session consultation phone call, which happens after you book & confirm your session.
What about my hair & makeup?
Makeup or hair styling is not needed for the babies. However, if you have opted for a family session, you may optionally like to come ready with hair and makeup. We don’t recommend a detailed makeup and hair styling for the mom. Just a basic makeup and blow-dry, straight or soft curls for the hair can do. We don’t allow make-up artists at our studio for the baby sessions.
How long will the session last? What time should we arrive?
The timings for sessions varies with the package type. The Classic Session should take 30-40 minutes, provided that the baby is settled. The Gold Session will last about 90 minutes. The Platinum Session can take about 3 hours. Sometimes though babies can take a bit longer to settle, so ultimately we are at their mercy ;).
If you have opted for a family session, it can take another 20-30 minutes.
Depending on the weather and our mutual availability, a time will be decided. Please note that it’s important that you arrive on time for your appointment and so that I can keep my other appointments.
If you are delayed…
If you are more than one hour late, your session will be cancelled and the fee will be forfeited.
What if I am unable to make it to the session appointment?
The session should be rescheduled at least 5 days in advance. If you have a medical emergency, we can consider rescheduling the session at a short notice. Please submit a doctor’s certificate for consideration. If you don’t show up for your appointment or are over 1 hour late, your payment will be forfeited.
How do I book my session?
When will you deliver the photos?
Your unprocessed low-res session photos are watermarked and delivered to you online by link to an online viewer within one week of your session.
From these unprocessed photos, you can shortlist the photos that you would like us to retouch and finish.
Once you inform us of your shortlisted photos that you would like us to retouch, we will take about 4-8 weeks from the date of your shortlisting to process your photos.
What is the quality of soft copy photos?
The unprocessed digital photos are provided to you for the purpose of selection only and are low-resolution jpg files (1000 pixels on long side) and have multiple watermarks across them saying, “anega bawa photography – for selection only”. These are only accessible on our website to help you select your final photos and are not downloadable.
The final retouched images provided to you are in high-resolution jpg files (2500 pixels on long side) with our logo watermark in the middle (not on the side).
We don’t recommend the printing of our photos outside our studio to maintain the quality of our art. You do have the option to purchase the final retouched photos without logo watermark. There is no option to get unedited photos but you can order extra edited/retouched or colour-corrected photos. Please note that the photos printed by us will not have any logo or watermark.
What is the difference between unprocessed, colour-corrected & edited/retouched photos?
Unprocessed Photos: The unprocessed digital photos are shared online with you on our selection portal for the purpose of selecting your final photos are low-resolution jpg files (1000 pixels on long side) and have a watermark across them saying, “for selection only – anega bawa photography”. These are not downloadable and are only for selecting final photos.
Colour-corrected Photos: This is a quicker editing style which I have recently started offering. To understand easily, you can think of it as a customised filter that I develop for each photo. Colour-correction will normally include photo-alignment & cropping as well. In summary, this is a faster, less-detailed editing style. Colour-corrected photos do NOT include background extension, body shaping, skin smoothening etc.
Edited/Retouched Photos: These are detailed hand edits that involve working for hours in photoshop. Editing/retouching happens on top of colour-corrected photos. Skin can be smoothened, blemishes are removed, body shape can be changed, backgrounds can be extended… if needed etc.
Both colour-corrected” & “edited/retouched” are 2500 pixels on the long side with our single logo watermark in the middle of the photo.
Do you offer any printed products?
Prints are NOT offered as part of any of the package. We offer high quality prints, wall portraits and coffee table books. Please check these out in person when you are visiting for your session.
Do you share our photos on social media and other places?
The short answer is – Yes, I do share the photographs from the sessions on my social media accounts, website, with newspapers, magazines, competitions etc.
Here’s the long answer: As a passionate artist, I try my very best to produce the most beautiful art for you that will last you a lifetime. I really put my heart and soul into creating beautiful photos for you. Sharing my work with the world helps me get motivated to keep going, feel artistic freedom and produce even more beautiful body of work. Also, I consider my Photography is a form of expression for me, so I need to share it. Imagine, you create something beautiful like a painting, only to be told that it can’t be shared. Imagine, if Mona Lisa didn’t want Leonardo-di-vinci to share her portrait with the world. So, I do share my body of work online and offline.
I am time-sensitive towards certain subject, like pregnancy or birthday photos, for which if you request me, I will wait for the event to pass successfully before I share the photos.
See you soon at my studio to create memories that will last beyond our lifetimes, for the generations to come.
Behind the Scenes of a Dreamy Sitter Session by Anega Bawa
“This is a stage when your babies are sitting up and expressing a lot, speaking out a few words and giving wonderful expressions. They are blooming. But they also have a mind of their own. So I try to enrich their experience and expressions by creating a set or a look that they can interact with. You will be amazed at what your little one can do.”
~ Anega ~
“Their smiles, their surprises and the way they call out for you — are all experiences that you need to capture. This is a great time as they are developing new habits which are just amazing.”
“Sitters are amazing imitators. And they gaze into your actions with an unquestionable curiosity. Best part is that they can’t run around yet, so they make it easy for you to capture amazing portraits.”
